Megakaryoblast Morphology

  • Megakaryoblast :It’s is a precursor cell , which in turn becomes a megakaryocyte during haematopoiesis. It is the beginning of the thrombocytic series.
  • Size: 7 – 35 micron
  • Cytoplasma: scant blue + absent granules + budding protrusions at periphery
  • Nucleus: it’s round or oval + nucleoli may present + coarse chromatin
